    Review

REVIEW dress advertisement recently featured in the Febuary 2011 issue of Madison Australia
What a great look this would be for a bridesmaid. The dress clearly has influences in the 1950s, but the short length modernises the silouette, leaving a pretty foral dress suitable for party, wedding or formal event. I also love this hairstyle - it is quite simple to do and could be worn in a variety of situations from school to a formal event. Two pieces of hair frame the face, while the rest has been swept back and secured low. The headband adds interest to the style, and gives it an air of sweetness. However, pairing the headband with an updo keeps the the model looking sophisticated rather than like a young girl. The shoes are also, worth a mention: the solid colour compliments rather than competes with the dress, and the siluette is fairly classic, with an eye to current trends. The overall look is classic and feminine, but not old-fashioned.

    Isadora's Antique Jewellery

Isadora's has a collection of antique jewellery, dating from the Georgian era to mid 20th century, and retro. Some items are beautiful yet prohibitively expensive, while others cost only a few hundred dollars. There is jewellery for both men and women in a variety of styles, metals and stones, however the pictures shown below are those which suit my personal preferences. While the price tags may be a disincentive for all but the wealthy to purchase as simply an addition to their wardrobe, there are some reasonably priced engagement rings. Personally, I am content to oggle at pretty things that I probably wouldn't have an occasion to wear.

    Hairstyle Inspiration: Audrey Hepburn

    Audrey Hepburn
A pretty pixie cut with a short fringe that draws attention to her beautiful eyes and delicate features, and of course those cute hoop earrings. I also love her eyebrows and lipstick.

This picture really demonstrates how accessorising well can take an outfit to that next level.

    Hairstyle Inspiration: Ruth Hussey

    Ruth Hussey
Ruth is wearing a cute short-medium curly/wavy style with a hair accessory and some killer false eyelashes. It would make a softer alternative to finger waves for those with short hair.

    Hair Inspiration: Betty Grable

Betty Grable shows us how to wear short-medium hair with a hat. This would make a good style for the races.
